Games and Practice will be scheduled between 10am - 1pm
This new league, in partnership with the NHL and RCX Sports, allows players to experience the thrill of playing hockey without the expensive equipment and skates. League play is done with a ball and hockey stick while players are wearing tennis shoes. Games are played on an asphalt basketball court with walls to keep the ball in play to get the experience of playing Street Hockey in a more organized format.
Games are played on Sundays and a team practice is held before the game. Game and practice time based on how many teams we have signed up. All players receive a reversible NHL team jersey. Sticks and balls for playing are provided, but players are allowed to bring their own if they choose. Mouth Guards, Eye Protection, and Helmets are recommended.
Players will be divided into teams by SLARA and Friend Requests are allowed, but must be done via the Friend Request form in the questions below. Age groups are 6-8 and 9-11, but more age groups may be added depending on interest.
We must have 2 teams in order to play and we rely on Volunteer Coaches, so if you are interested in coaching, please contact Justin Lambregtse at jlambregtse@slrec.com or 248-437-8105.
